Being overwhelmed by all the choice

You may be overwhelmed by all the choice. There are many options to choose from, and it's easy to get lost in the sea of possibilities.

You need to know what you need and what you want. Does the federation that you are competing with have its own rules? Do you have a body type or measurements that are different from average?

In short: You need to figure out what's important to you and the federation.

Ordering the correct style for the federation

If you’re entering a bikini competition it’s important to order the correct style suit for your federation. For example, if you are competing with ICN, make sure you are ordering an Bikini which fits withing the federations guideline.

ICN have very lenient rules and regulations regarding the bikini style. For example:

A two-piece fashion bikini. There is no restriction on fabric or style. However, avoid the ‘posing costume’ typical of Ms Physique and Bodybuilders. A Bikini Model will be better served wearing a bikini that displays a sense of fashion and style.

IFBB have clear rules and regulations regarding the bikini style which all competitors must abide by during competitions. For example:

Competitors will compete in a two-piece suit. The bottom of the suit must be v-shaped. No Thongs are permitted. Competitors can compete in an off the rack suit. All swimsuits must be in good taste. Athletes will be warned about improper suits and are advised to bring two (2) suits to check in. If the fronts of the suit(s) bottoms are too low and the judges deem them so at check-in’s, then the suit must be constructed higher, otherwise the Athletes will be scored down if the suit is not up to standard

WBFF have rules and regulations regarding the bikini style which all competitors must abide by during competitions. For example:

Two-Piece Bikini Round: Any colour, pattern, and style, as well as conservatively presentable. Thongs or any other styles that fit too small on the bottom are deemed inappropriate and absolutely not permitted.
